Howdy all! First post to the forums and a first time pinball owner here. I picked up a nice Strange Science pb last week. I have been enjoying the heck out of it so far. I have one question though regarding the neon topper. When it is flashing on and off I get a loud buzzing in the speakers. I am not sure given the name of the game and the jacobs ladder look of the topper if this is supposed to be there or if it is electronic 'noise' being picked up in the system somewhere.

Can anyone out there confirm this? Sometimes it is louder and sometimes it is softer. It does adjust with the volume control but that does not necessarily mean it is not interference.IMG_20131010_135432_998.jpgIMG_20131010_135432_998.jpg

OK after doing some poking around in the backbox I found the problem. It seems to have been caused by the reflective cardboard foil that goes around the bottom of the Neon topper. There was a ground wire that went through the foil thus grounding it. Well the foil board was torn at the connection. I added a larger washer to the ground so that it made good contact once again with the foil face.

There is no more electronic interference from the neon light now.

Now I just need to replace a couple of bulbs and put a new 3 prong plug end on to fix the ground at the outlet.
