I have a Data East Star Trek and I noticed that I am missing a post that supports the right side ramp. Can anyone post a picture of what supposed to be there and maybe tell what parts I need to fix this. Thanks

Hello Goami
I hope that the 2 photos will answer your question concerning the attachment of the ramp at the level of the amoeb. The ramp is fixed with a screw hidden by the gray PVC tube.
Note that on my pinball machine the decor of the amoeb is slightly offset from yours due to the offset of the "Collect scanner value" casing which allowed me to place the TV above the vuk as can be seen see in the second photo.

I'm borrowing a ST DE and doing some minor repairs. One complaint was the chase lights do not work.

I believe the board is supposed to be here?

I don't even see the connector that goes to the left of the board, where could it be?

Also one connector for lamp lights has the brown wire cut. I think I can see the other end stuck under the ramp.

Advice please

I fixed the brown wire. Tested the light strings with a 9v battery. All good.

Just trying to suss out the missing connector.
There's this ancient choc block which I think has them. But the wires have been cut and extended so some of the colours are confusing.

I can't find the wire colours in the manual so I'm unsure how to remake the connector

Could someone get a decent photo of the connector on the chase lamp board showing the colours on the 7 pins?

there is a special chase light board. But mine is missing it as well.
I'm pretty sure the manual had some details on the chase light board and it's cabling... but It's been ages since I looked at it.

The chase boards schematic is there but it doesn't show the colours of the wires. I've ordered a repro chase lamp board but I'm going to hit a wall with the connectors unless I can find decent reference pics (or ive missed it in the manual).

I've got a friend with a Hook. I believe it's the same so hopefully that will help

On first ball when I launch the ball I'm given the first crystal for free. Always No1.

Is this normal?
I worried there's a switch issue but I tried hitting launch with no ball and just the coil firing and still I get the first crystal spotted.

Sounds like a sensitive switch. Make sure the ramp switches are adjusted properly.

Hello Dave
It all depends on the game ROM version you are using. with Chad's version of 2022, when ball 1 is launched, crystal 1 is automatically granted after launch. In addition, as long as you have not obtained the first transporter, the following balls will automatically grant you an additional crystal at the launch of each ball except the primary crystal which will never be granted automatically.
Sorry for my google trad English, I hope my explanation is clear enough.

Question to everyone using the ChadH 3.0 ROM.

On boot mine still says display very 1.09 and also in the service menus the new options still have the old text, for example adj 41 is tournament mode on, on mine it still says "recall scanners".
I have the new functionality of the game ROM just the service menu options aren't any different.

Is this normal?

Secondly, occasionally when going into scanners or the left scoop a message like "BANK 0 MADE" comes up on the dmd. What does this mean? It doesn't seem to do anything, it's not spotting my drop banks.

Something is wrong with your Display ROM. Did that get upgraded to v.3.00 also? This update requires the CPU ROM and the Display ROM to be updated.

#815 2 days ago

You need to update the Display rom as well, the chip is on the display board. Per the website.

Instructions for creating your modified Star Trek ROM image files

You will need a blank 27C512 EPROM for the CPU ROM and a blank 27C010 or 27C010 EPROM for the DISPLAY ROM.

Apparently it was updated, I received a new ROM, a friend burnt them both from the archive. I'll let him know there must have been an issue

The very first thing you see at bootup should be:

DISPLAY: STARTREK A3.00

and then...
