Had same thing happen, with the 2 plastic balls in there - I just left it to hopefully not happen again, so far so good!

I'm a little surprised by those connectors. Right angle header pins would've been a better idea there and/or with a small plastic barrier to protect them.

Agreed, I thought the same. Honestly I never really looked under there to see what kind of clearance there was so I was surprised when I saw all that junk hanging down like that.
