I'm always fascinated when a ball gets stuck in a strange place and I think to myself, "I could play this game 10,000 times and that would never happen again".

Post a pic of strange way your ball has gotten stuck and we'll ask ourselves, "How the hell did that happen??".

Didn't get a photo of it but while playing the new Hobbit game at the TPF the ball flew up and got stuck on top of one of the plastics by the lower right sling. There were 25 people in line behind me to play it and nobody had the key so I had to pick up the front of the machine to get the ball unstuck. Unfortunately it was a good ball that I had to tilt out. Oh well...

Funny you should ask. About 3 months ago I'm playing my Black Hole and I had one ball in play on the lower playfield and made a shot off the right flipper to the ball lock area in the upper left corner....we'll the ball never came back down and didn't lock in either. Hmmmm....? I got out my flashlight and looked all over in the cabinet and the lower playfield and still didn't find it and of course I was having the game of a life time when it happened. So about a week ago I finally opened it up and looked around for about a half hour, even pulled the lower playfield entirely out and still nothing. Thats when it hit me, that it had to be stuck in the upper playfield someplace and I turned around and looked real close and sure enough right next to the upper left flipper bracket on the main playfield...there it was. Hard to see in these pics but it was in there pretty snug to stay in that spot even with the playfield being lifted up and down several times.

Shooter lane, about an hour ago, multiball ended but the machine was acting like there was still a ball out there. That's the last place you would look.

OK, I don't even see what the heck that ball is stuck on. Do you you have any incline on that table at all?

I must have had three balls in the shooter lane and the autolaunch couldn't shoot all three, third one rolled back and just caught on my cliffys as I drained.

I got another one on my Space Invaders last night.

Here are 2 balls, stuck on top of each other in a single game of TFTC.

I sometimes can get 2 balls to stack in the Whirlpool of WH2O if they are too close together.

I remember having this same issue on my DW back in the day.

I don't have a photo of it, but had one get caught in the Iron Monger as it was going down below the playfield on Iron Man. The machine searched for the ball, but it never raised the Monger back up. I think the system ended up throwing a new ball into play and I eventually knocked it loose.

I was playing Star Trek 25th last night and hit it really hard at the moving center target. Must have been perfect timing b/c it ended up going flying into the cab. It was on location and luckily they have the keys. It was fun.

Between drops on Flash Gordon!
IMG_1452.JPGIMG_1452.JPG

This one might not be that weird but twice this year i've lodged it into this space between the left orbit/ramp on Tron.

Fun photos. The 'ball stuck' versus a 'ball that has stopped moving'. Seem to be different situations. A stuck ball will require the hard shake of the game or removing the glass, to free the ball(s). The slow moving ball that stops during play is odd, but it does happen.

Got to Love Pinball! All that randomness.

#21 9 years ago

How the frick did that one on Flash Gordon get stuck between the drop targets??

#22 9 years ago

That Flash Gordon one is awesome. The pin gods were having fun that day.

This happened when I was playing No Good Gofers. When Buzz told Bud to keep that ball under wraps, he means it!

Last night playing Terminator 2, I shot the ball out of the cannon and it bounced right back. Then as the cannon returned to its original position, it pushed the ball underneath the right return ramp.

Last week I had two balls roll down the inlanes at the same time on Metallica, hit one another, and just sit there against one another wedged above the lowered flippers right above the center drain. I was attempting to let them drain during ball saver. Unfortunately, there was a third ball in play that knocked them out before I got a picture. Here's a fake one so you guys can imagine.Untitled.pngUntitled.png

Had this one happen today. I plunged it really shallow and it hit the ledge and then rolled along it back to the corner of the plastic.

After a year of playing on my Laser War, I've finally got a ball stuck in the one place I thought it would get stuck all the time. There's a chunk of plastic broken from my ramp, and thought it looked like a prime spot for a ball to hide. But never have seen it happen until tonight. Couldn't shake it free.

Yeah, under the flipper!

My buddy did this twice in the same night. Hasn't happened since.

That Waterworld one is crazy!

Question is,
After the picture, did both balls drain, or were one or both able to be shot back into play? I'm thinking 1 maybe, at the cost of the other? (my money is on the right one living)

Shopping a Jurassic Park & found this when I took the plastics off.. It really was jammed in there too..

There was a ball stuck in this Monopoly at a movie theater when I walked up to it. I managed to get another one stuck next to it.

I know for sure one was saved, but can't remember if both were

Wonder if that's the one I got a ball stuck in back in 1995? I used to play the crap out of that game at our local Aladdin's Castle. Then one day I got a ball stuck. I knew where the ball was, but couldn't shake it free. I went and told the attendant on duty and he said he didn't have access to the inside of the machine. Or didn't know how to work on them at least. 6 months later, the machine still had the ball stuck, but was turned off with an "Out of Order" sign on it." Then a couple months after that, the machine was gone. I was so ticked at myself for getting that ball stuck, because it would be nearly 17 years later before I was to see another Jurassic Park again.

Wow...never noticed that

Probably wouldn't have those balls stuck if Waterworld had the correct flippers in it. But it probably plays better with the flippers that are in it now. Sink the Deez!

The craziest part is that someone actually had to play Waterworld to make it happen. Poor guy...

My son was playing LOTR and fired all three balls in to the Orthanc well, and the resulting pileup was not contacting the switch. And the ball search firing the VUK also missed the log jam.

#48 9 years ago

I don't have a picture, but I managed to shoot a ball off the right ramp in Batman forever and fall behind the playfield and land in the bottom of the cabinet.

Had this happen during multi-ball on my ID4

I had a ball stuck behind the spinner on my Gorgar and everytime I hit the flippers it would score. Lol.
