What do tournament rules dictate for that situation?

Depends on the tourney, it's a call the TD would have to make.

from the player perspective, as soon as you have noticed the "blocked" ball, you have to try to free her
if you can't, you have to craddle the other(s) ball(s) and call...
now, let's be serious, a ball there in the inlane, i'm sure evbd will play normally until it will free by its own, and if it didnt happends, that means you surelly had a very bad multiball anyway

Nice one, I've logged a lot of hours on vector and I've never seen that.

I really like playing my Vector. Probably not as many games as you, but that was a first for me as well.
I got one:
That's a string from a microfiber cleaning cloth, that somehow showed up in the right orbit and grabbed that ball. Funny thing is I had cleaned the game about four hours of gameplay time ago. No idea where it was all that time, before suddenly showing up in Super Victory Laps at the end of an hour-long game.
That's actually pretty common on AIQ. The gauntlet wireform should be bent up a couple millimeters higher so that doesn't happen.
Balls under the Thanos gauntlet are very common - it's shockingly negligent that Stern somehow didn't notice that gap is exactly the height of the ball and never did anything to fix it in two years of production runs by now. I had to stick a piece of foam in there to block the gap.

My favorite. I have never seen this one! Now I can die happy.
Quoted from chipleader:You're missing the wire ball guide that goes behind the rubber.

Thanks. I'll have to rig something up.

this is for sure the mega-extra-super skillshot !

Haha , I was hoping for big points mostly because I couldn’t free it even lifting the game up 8 inches off the floor

Not anymore shocking that they don't get a gauntlet that doesn't look like it came from Dollar Tree.
