A good competitive strategy for JJP to announce so far advance for the collector market. Locks up a big chunk of the market for the next two years; ie, how many people will pass up the various Stern offerings between now and then given the $8k price tag for a Hobbit pin?

I think the more interesting question is how much Stern is going to raise their prices now that JJP is asking $ 8K.
Not 1000 of plenty. You over estimate the size of that market for a $8k piece of entertainment equipment that weighs 400 pounds and takes up a good amount of floor space in a private home.
