Wow, that was a lot of reading trying to see if someone already made this point. Somewhere on this site is the option to NOT let images load. Since I spend most of my time on pinside while on my phone, I do this (no loaded images) to try to keep data usage at a minimum (not sure if it helps but I hope so). Regardless, this completely stops displaying potentially offensive images unless you force the image to be viewed.
If I am remembering this wrong and this is NOT an option found on pinside, I definitely have this function active on any terminal that I read pinside on so I found it somewhere. Carry on.
