Install notes.
When moving the light from the bracket to the curio cabinet make sure the led is facing down inside the curio cabinet (see picture, not my pic btw) . In my case this meant I had to remove the screw from the grommet and thread it through from the other side of the board, which is a little different from what the install video says.
I added a few washers on the posts, below the baseplate of the mod, to raise the baseplate enough that the second layer of the mod cleared the scoop, allowing for a snug fit. This drastically reduced the available threads for the nuts to engage. I think it was enough to hold it well, but if the nuts loosen I will try a bit of loctite. I could have bent the scoop forward instead to solve this, but I like the way the scoop shoots and I was concerned about the effect bending the scoop would have on game play.
My posts that this mod installs on were only loosely screwed into the playfield. To remove the lock nut and extension I had to hold the posts from below the original mod base. There are slim nuts built into the posts below the threads but I found it easier to use a small pair of pliers or hemostats to hold the posts, (be careful not to mar the posts with the jaws), instead of trying to get a wrench on them.
My rubbers (3 of them) around the curio cabinet were in bad shape so I took this opportunity to replace them with some blue Titans which you can see in my previous post.
Make sure you take the time to look closely at the curios in the cabinet. Very cool.
This is soo much better than the original.
