Lots of people enjoy playing games that are hard. Starting DoD is rare, but completing it gives you something to aspire. The latter is like running a four minute mile. The barrier stood for a long time. Once breached, this line was crossed ... often. Many different people could now do what was considered impossible by all they experts. Some even improved on it.
Completing DoD is the first step. Catching it on video is the hard part.
