Rob Anthony Borygard is planning on having his booth at the show. Bring your boards that need repair so I have less to do throughout the year. haha

    #11 6 years ago

Is this Rob's first Houston show?
Now you guys are making me take the show under serious consideration.

    #12 6 years ago

This will be Rob's 2nd visit if he makes it down in October. P3 should be here. We are hoping Houdini will make an appearance.

    #14 6 years ago

Heighway pinball cancelled on us last year at the last minute.

    #16 6 years ago

    WoooooHhoooooo!!!

    #17 6 years ago

Always a good show. Really hope all the new stuff can be there. Really like to check out AFMr, Aliens, Dialed In, Houdini, and all Stern's latest. It seems so far away but now summer is going to blow on by.

    #18 6 years ago

oooo yeah... i'd like to play a new AFMr. someone get hasslecastle to bring 20 of 'em.

    #19 6 years ago

Gonna miss this year. First one in a while that I've missed.

We'll be returning from a cruise on the 21st.

    #20 6 years ago

Joystix http://www.joystixamusements.com/ is our local distributor here in Houston, who happens to be a Stern, JJP, CGC, and now an American Pinball distributor. So we have a good chance to have some of the newest games released this year.

How does this show compare to TPF?

    #26 6 years ago

    Booked! See yall there.

    #27 6 years ago

Made my reservation a couple days ago. Should be a good time!

    #28 6 years ago
    Quoted from Lermods:

How does this show compare to TPF?

    The same, but different.
    I make both every year.
"For me", this is more of a party with live music, smaller venue & more games than time to play.

TPF is more of a show & is gigantic with strong focus on manufactures booths.

There's lots of other variances, but at some point...blablabla...

Totally different atmospheres, of which I thoroughly enjoy both above & beyond any other events. Do everything possible to make both & more importantly, make the most of them.

    #29 6 years ago
    Quoted from Lermods:

How does this show compare to TPF?

Well established show, has tournaments you can enter, respectable free-play area, good mixture of pinball machines and arcade/video games, reasonable room rates, great party atmosphere, guest speakers, workshops, Sat morning swap meet out in the back parking lot, friendly folks that run this Expo. Some people like to dress up in Star Wars costumes, or as Mario Brothers, etc.
    http://www.arcadecenter.com/

Not as big as TPF, and this is basically a 2 day show, where TPF is 3 days.

Pretty sure I have gone to this show for about 4 years, but didn't make it last year.
Usually I bring a pinball machine each year for setting up in the free-play area.
I hope to make it this year.

    2 questions.

Is there flooding in the area of the Hotel?

Any chance of having an organized fundraiser in conjunction with the tournament or other ways of giving to assist flood victims?

    #38 6 years ago
    Quoted from Nevus:

Is there flooding in the area of the Hotel?

No. Keith, event organizer, had just checked this morning.

Hoping Phil can post an answer about your other question.

    #39 6 years ago

I got my reservation in at the hotel.
I need to register my Star Trek LE for the show. Will do so soon.

    #40 6 years ago

Well, I was looking forward to it when I first opened this thread, but then realized I am working nights both days hahaha. Maybe I can wake up early and swing by.

I noticed your marketplace ads and you speaking of a Halloween party. This is right before it. You may find some good deals or trades in time for your party.

Will be flying in this year so no Acrylic game. Will be back in 2018 with the full booth experience. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

    Why?
I think you need to tell us how you faired from Harvey... you kinda dropped off the map and worried some of us.

Third time. I think. I know it's at least three, maybe four. I can visualize the three booth set ups, two in the main hall the first two years, one in the side vendor room, but I feel like there was more.

At any rate, very much looking forward to the show and some awesome BBQ and Mexican food!

Sadly, the Gold Cup near the hotel closed to make room for a wider Hwy 290.
