I owned the game just under a year and put around 400 games on it. The game is deep, love the callouts but I never got dragged into the game. A game that is easy to add figures and such to and it is a pretty game to look at but again it just seemed like a chore to start a game. Yes I can spend a lot of time playing it but I just didn't want to half of the time. Tough to put a finger on it, maybe it was the playfield layout or not being impressed with the path of the dead at all. Maybe I will want to get back into this game at a later date but I am not holding my breath.

First time playing I put up a 24million and it took forever, but I had a lot of fun doing it.
Very long ball times, and the theme works well for any LotR fans.

Deep game so much to do, long ball times. It's more of an adventure than a pinball game :) love the callouts, not a ton of toys but the ring is great and bashing the balrog fun as wel. Mainly this is a game you can keep for a very long time!!

This game is highly rated for a reason. It's just fun and challenging to play. I was able to understand the modes and objectives quickly. The game play ties into the movie well. Ball times are long... on an average game I playing about 30-45 minutes, but destroying the ring every time isn't guaranteed.

Didn't rate the game until I played it a few more times so I could try to be a little more accurate. This game grew on me as time passed. I'm not into the theme, as LOR has never done anything for me. Still, the pin itself plays really well and the more I play it, the more I want to try some more. I think it deserves a nice rating.

Surprised at how much fun I found this pin to be. Was expecting it to be great looking/sounding, but I wanted to keep playing this one.

wow..... what a great pin LOTR is. i bought my used lotr from trent earlier this year and love it. awesome theme, awesome music, great play. bashing balrog really gets my blood flowing. the flow is amazing and never slows down. love the ring modes and multi balls for sure. still have never beat the game, but damn its a fun pin. love the art package which includes cool backglass, nice sideart and front art too. updated my pin to the latest software (10.0 i think it is?). great classic theme for a classic movie franchise. win win in my book.

The best Stern for me so far. Rules are deep (to deep for me :-), but the thought that went into this games is incredible. A personal top 3 game for me.

Deeper than a deep thing in deep town. Some really annoying things like the ball VUK cueing a 'ting ting ting' noise that really grinds on me, and fact you have to spend hours standing in front of it to get anywhere, but it remains Sterns finest ever creation. I really wanted to hate it, but i just cant deny its brilliance. (update: I now own it. Slightly better than i first thought, altered ratings to reflect)

My all time favorite machine!!! Yes I am a huge LOTR novel and movie fan and maybe not a pinball purist but damn do I LOVE this machine. The playfield has great flow and maybe not the most challenging machine out there but I feel that the amount of modes and strories that this machine has more than makes up for it. The look and sound of this machine is amazing and the DMD anamiation really gets you in the mood to never stop playing this game. I can't stop saying enough good things about this machine!!!!

Lord of the Rings is an easy game to pick up and play, but a difficult game to complete. The ruleset for this one is huge and the final Wizard mode will only be attained by the best players. Lots of replayability, memorable sounds and great flow make this a great game!

If this were a Williams pin, it would be top three. It almost is already, which is saying something. The theme is a huge plus, and it just gets better from there. Stern's best effort to date. Second deepest rules ever, great amount of shots, and tons of calls/music/tasks. All this amazing pin packed with only two flippers. Every game feels awesome even when you only get half way to actually beating it!

One of the top Sterns for sure. Complex game that obviously took a lot of work. Great toys and great rules. If you like games that challenge you to reach the wizard mode, this is one of your top options.

Owned a routed version that was in very good condition for a few yrs. No mods or shaker motor- just your typical stock PF. Did not feel like a cheap toy like some of the other Stern machines (TSPP). Someone local had a really nice shopped MM for sale back when they were selling in the 5K range- so I traded this off plus a lil cash. Sure glad that deal worked out!!

This is one of my personal favorites and currently in my collection. This game is so deep that it is crazy. I play it almost daily and have still to beat, or even get close to beating, certain parts.

My favorite pin of all time. I'm a big LOTR movie fan so no surprise. The game is challenging with deep rules. The audio and display animation during the different modes are excellent. It's intense during multi-balls and destory the ring. My wife loves it too. It's a keeper in my collection.

Just did not enjoy the game. The machine I played was not in good shape, but I expected more, much more.
