Here's my current shelf. My tastes tend toward the malty. I also like Belgian ales, porters, stouts, and barley wine. Shiner Bock is my current go-to macro domestic. It wasn't too terribly long ago when you could not buy that around here. The Dark Hollow is brewed up in the Blue Ridge Mountains and is very satisfying.

Quoted from meSz:

Just had the Ayinger Pils on tap, it has a little hop to it. Not a lot but, not being an IPA fan, I wouldn't drink it again. Interested to get your input as I love a lot of the Ayinger products, especially the Celebrator Doppelbock.

I agree with your assessment. The Ayinger Pils is hoppier than my usual tastes, but nothing as heavy handed as an IPA. In the summer months it is a nice, light, crisp change of pace. I have the Celebrator in regular rotation. I have those little plastic goats all over the place!

Unibroue also bottles the Trader Joe’s Vintage Ales. They are usually quite nice.

It was homecoming and family weekend at my alma mater this weekend. I had a couple of pints of Vienna Lager on draught. That beer is ok in bottles, but is vastly improved on tap. What other beers do you find are significantly better on draught? Guinness comes immediately to mind. Others?
