Hi CV clubmembers,

Im so lucky to own a very beautifull CV (since 5 yrs now). One thing that always worries me is lowering the playfield after some maintenance. It tends..no it does always does, hit the DMD protection plastic with the magnet mini pf if I can call it that. I had to replace the plastic once already as I wasn't aware in the beginning.
Now I' ve heard that there is some kind of bracket available which keeps the DMD plastic-protector close to the DMD so there is more room to maneuver the PF back into its position.
How do you deal with this issue, is it an issue for all CV's? Any one know about this special bracket and where to buy it?

Quoted from bobukcat:

There was a kit (A-22270) that WMS issued back in the day that addressed this and several other things (if you've seen CV with a post behind the "Bally" target on the left of the RM it was part of this kit). I bought one of these kits somewhere many years ago but never installed it because it requires you to trim a piece out of the DMD cover to fix that problem and I certainly didn't want to drill a hole in my PF to install the post by the RM. Here's a picture of the instructions related to the DMD cover fix.

Aha, so they did provide a solution.. Probably this bracket is not available anymore? I guess trimming out a piece of the plastic is already a solution, no need to install an additional bracket. Still I hope to find one as the plastic also scrapes over that little mini pf and damages it.
Thanks for that reference, I will use it to try to find it

Quoted from someoneelse:

Same here. The PF will go out and in without hitting the DMD cover if you don't act like a total klutz.

I think each CV has its own margins there at the DMD protector, mine is really tight. Of course now that I know I can slide it in and out without damaging it.
Anyway, I can't get hold of such a protector set, no biggy.

I decided to go LED it out to the max and put a color DMD in! It never seemed to be necessary but now my CV is in the middle of recent Sterns, it is a must!

(I will remove that plastic protector untill it is complete!)

Pics will follow...

Does anyone know where I can find a backbox decal?

#383 7 years ago

Ah no not the backbox decals, sorry, I meant the inside backbox decal, you know where the canon ball gets launched over Do those exist at all?
