Stern has lots of alternate translites hanging on the walls ...there are often multiple versions created before the licensor approves one.
If Trons went back into production with a 2D translite, I'm sure it would be the same exact one but without the 3D effect.
There's a picture of Borgs dog there ... That's clearly the new theme!

Yup this was my thought as well. 
Borg's likely wearing a Frankenstein shirt because he designed the Sega pin about 20 years ago..... which also means that shirt might be getting a bit crusty.
