I seem to have an issue where the rear drop target on my STTNG is up when it shouldn't be (or at least I don't think it should be). For example when I select "Launch A Probe" mode during a plunge it should be down, but it's up and sends the ball into the pops and I don't get to launch a probe. That's it, mode ends. It also happens during Borg lock ... the mode seems to start, but then just stops sometimes as if I haven't met the goals yet. Seems to happens in other modes too, but not sure.

Naturally I'm going to jump in and run various tests today, but I'm curious if anyone knows for certain what that drop target's behavior is supposed to be.

Thanks,

Brian

All good advice gents, thanks. The game needs a good shop, so I won't be surprised to find a sticky mech.

Ok, plot thickens. The linkage for the drop-down "down" action is missing. The coil fires in solenoid test, but since there's no linkage nothing happens. Need to get a close-up of this setup and locate parts. Anyone have a good pic??

Here's my orphaned coil:

By the way it was quite filthy. Now reasonably clean and the drop now operates smoothly ... But it won't matter until I loacte the parts I need.

Here you go
Missing the spring and attached plate.
Tip: look at the bottom of your cabinet esecialy the speaker magnet.

Yeah, I'm digging deeper... Planetary Pinball to the rescue. Their online parts manuals are awesome:

Look like I'm missing the actuator arm, armature, and spring... I almost have the parts list together. The darn armature part # doesn't appear to be depicted in the diagram...

Edit ... okay, here's the updated list:

Looks like the "FRAME & EYELET ASSY #A-14913" (below) broke, and then the operator just yanked all the other bits out.

The little bits added up. ~$40 with priority shipping via Marco.

--- Better get the ledge and the cinch rivets.

Thought about it ... It actually looked to be in pretty good shape. Probably should have just grabbed them, but it's already done...

Brian, sorry just catching up on this. Let me know if you need any other pictures, I'll be happy to snap a few and send them over.

Thanks John ... I think I'm good. All the parts are on order. The diagram from Planetary Pinball really helped.

A little late and you may no longer need them but I had a few pictures handy.

That is a help. While assembly should be simple enough it's nice to see the details... Thanks!
