Learnin’ my new Gottlieb Target Alpha! It is my first EM. I have the schematics and owners manual.

Tilt light is on when I power up the game... haven’t seen that on my other SS machines. It seems to reset ok when I start first game.

My interpretation of how tilt works is the Tilt Hold relay is on all the time, keeping power to the game until a tilt (through other tilt relay, normally closed switch) kills the power to the tilt hold relay and opens the circuit.

When I look at schematic I don’t think there is any way to power the Tilt Hold relay initially on power on... nothing until DX actuates it once, then it holds itself on until I get a real tilt . Is that normal functioning or should the tilt light be off when you first power up the game?

Don’t want to be chasing “problems” that are normal functionality. I saw in other posts that on Gottlieb machines the tilt “may be on or off” at power up.... does TA have it on?

If it’s supposed to be off, what may be preventing power from getting to the tilt hold relay when I power it up?
