Xenon. The first pin I bought and I love it's light show and backglass.

    #52 6 years ago

Party Animal, why because I have one.

    #53 6 years ago

Another for eight ball deluxe! Back in the 80s my buddy and I put enough quarters in it to buy it several times over. Pure pinball. No gimmicks or playfield toys. So when I got a grown up job it was a necessity to buy....finally. And of course it already has pinitech NVRAM inside!

This is an easy one. Gotta be Future Spa.

The artwork alone is what puts it above and beyond.

Add in the fact it is a wide body, the unusual playfield layout, and all those darn outlanes!

    #55 6 years ago

Stern catacomb, I can't get enough of the backglass bagatelle.

Paragon. There are plenty of days I think this may be the pinnacle of pinball. This game can be deceptively fast and just plain brutal but you can get it really amped up for bonus and every drop is so satisfying. The artwork is classic Bally from the era and the details are some of Faris's best work. I used to hate this game. Several players in the Atlanta area had one and it ate me up every time. Then I got a chance to pick up a really nice example, a German re-import at that. Love this game. It would look fantastic with some nice leds, though I'll continue playing it daily. And it's partner Flash Gordon (they sit next to each other as the favored games)...it's already been spoken of. Unfortunately, my poor Flash is losing it's Flash in the displays, they are starting to outgas and just look a bit ugly... So yeah, I go back and forth on these two, so fantastic and I had to bring FG back into the collection after selling the first but Paragon never left so...

I would own them all if I could.

Probably picking Strikes and Spares because It's just so damn nice to look at and really the one I remember most from the local arcade when I was a kid.

Going to have to say EBD. While I have deep love and respect for Space Invaders, Future Spa and a host of others, I always come back to EBD. It was the game that I played when I first joined the Navy up in Great Lakes, Ill. Played it more at various country bars over the years. Played it at TPF and the HoF in Vegas and now I finally have my own. I figured having one in my house would sour me on it eventually but it is the one I always have set up. Permanent collection. Period.

I will say Bally Kiss is one my favorites. Mainly due to the recent loss of my dad, the Kiss pinball reminds me of the days when I used to go to the shop where my dad worked for 36 years. I was 15 when I first saw the Kiss pinball and played it quite a bit there when I helped out. Lots of fun memories that started 32 years ago. One day I hope to own one, even if it is for a short period.

Love my Black Jack. The game fits in great in my poker room and the need to beat the dealer to get a good score is a cool feature.

Bally Playboy was the favourite as a kid, this whistle like sound when first you put your coin in, then the game sounds had a strange seduction to them, and of course the graphics which were almost porn to a 14year old kid, the two playmates with Hugh Heffner would be in the imagination, "did" they look like that in real life. A really great time in life to look back on.

Drawing was slightly delayed for dinner

    And the results are in..

SuperPinball, you win the MAIN PRIZE! A full set of 5x displays! Your choice of a 6-digit or 7-digit set & the style of display (UNO or Traditional). I'm going to assume you'll want a 7-digit for your XENON

@EvanDickson, @QuietEarp, Skins -- you each get a single 6-digit or 7-digit display, your choice of UNO or Traditional.

Folks above can PM me with your display preferences & an address. It'll take a few days for me to get these ready ..but should have them out by end of the week.

Congratulations to all of you & many many thanks to everyone that participated in the contest! I thought it generated some cool discussion! Keep watch for some other neat things from PINITECH & very likely more chances to win something later this year!

Boy does that Meteor look good with those displays! Makes me sorry we sold the Meteor we owned last year! I know we can't keep them all but to me it is more about the art then the gameplay and I love the look of that machine with those displays.

    #69 6 years ago

Umm, not sure how I forgot to mention this..

Rob @ CreditDotPinball recently reviewed both styles of these displays at this link:
    https://creditdotpinball.com/2017/08/21/review-pinitechs-uno-and-traditional-led-display-kits/

If you missed it, definitely check it out! Rob did a great job comparing both styles of displays!

That picture is magazine-worthy IMO! I'm glad John's letting me use it on the website (need to get it added still). But boy, what color!! Great photography work -- or awesome camera, or both!

It's not as much fun to say this now but if I had been drawn I was going to tell Wayne to pick again as I currently own no Ballys

    #72 6 years ago

I just stopped by the thread to say that Pinitech is awesome. Keep up the good work! That is all.

    #73 6 years ago

Agreed, Pinitech is awesome. Some really innovative products and the prices are very reasonable.
I ordered a full set of UNOs last week. Once I get my Quicksilver restored, these displays (with green filters) will be the icing on the cake.

Haha. Something tells me you probably aren't alone Hey if it's free, it's free! You figure out what to do with it after you win it lol.

    #75 6 years ago

SuperPinball, QuietEarp, Skins -- you all have packages coming
I'll get the remaining display out for EvanDickson early next week.

I've upgraded everyone's prizes to the latest rev boards since you all chose UNOs and I didn't have many of extras of those left. So the jumper block was installed for the decimal/comma and can easily be swapped on or off.

I'll have to figure out something to do with a few of the extra REV1 Traditional sets I have. Perhaps another contest later this year. Keep watch for an announcement here on Pinside or on the website for that. It'll probably be November/December time-frame.

I didn't think that a beautiful game such as Xenon can be made even more beautiful until I installed a new set of Pinitech UNO displays. These displays are crisp, bright, extremely well built and super easy to install. You can even adjust the brightness to your liking as well as its position inside the head. I was living with a couple of displays not functioning properly for years but was too afraid to change them thinking that it was just too difficult to do so but Pinitech has made this plug and play solution a breeze. I cannot thank Pinitech enough for having such a wonderful display solution and wholeheartedly recommend them for your early Bally/Stern Display needs.

Pics don't do it justice due to the infinity glass messing the camera up but in real life......WOW!!

Awesome! I was hoping they'd be arriving soon for you up there! Thanks for taking a photo & glad to hear they were easy to install for you =] It's so nice having a crisp set of matching displays in a machine! Kind of changes the entire feel to it & makes the machine feel updated. Even with amber color digits, it still looks "newer".

Having the option to dim them with a smooth range from unlit, to barely lit, to full-on makes it very nice as well. I made sure there was good full range there. I know some people are plasma die-hards, but I'm pretty sure over time more of them will be convinced to come to the dark side

My hat off for Wayne for doing this giveaway. And very nice to see someone is really creative and doing things in a different way in stead of being a copycat. Cool! My compliments!
