Why is everyone asking almost new price for these use pinball machines? Just a few hundred dollars more and you can buy new.

They possibly could have done some mods or the NIB games are highly desirable and out of stock.

People trying to screw people as hard as they can. The buyer has more power than they think

It depends on the title, the condition, how desirable it is, and how rare it is.

And yes, sometimes people price games well above the going market price. Sometimes people add a whole bunch of mods to the game and then ask a higher price because of the addition of those mods.

Then you also have retail pricing from retail shops that repair/refurbish/restore and resell older games, though it also usually includes a warranty of some sort.

Then there's ebay, where prices are just ridiculously over the going market prices.

Not if there are a lot of other buyers.

Really depends on the particular game...and condition.

Asking prices? It's like asking why the sky is blue.

This guy is hoping for a NIB Tron at 2011 prices.

Asking price does not necessarily mean selling price. There is a yahoo in Marshfield WI with a Starship Troopers for sale on Craigslist at $4500 and on Ebay at $3900. Seller has no clue. Photos suggest machine in average condition. Seller obviously asking about twice of what its worth.

Does anyone think this will ever sell at such a ridiculous price?

Why would you want a NIB Tron anyway? The price is outrageous and it doesn't even come with the mods that most every other one has.

I would rather inspect a game I am going to purchase instead of getting and opening a mystery box with the shit quality of today's new games.

Some huo games can be worth nib prices depending on the amount of tweaking a game needs, or if a specific title has known issues like ghosting, chipping etc. buying an ironed out huo game at nib price can provide peace of mind.

Because people are paying these prices! These prices can be twice what the game is worth and it doesn't matter. People have money and they want that particular game, they pay for it....

Because that's what they sell for.
