Me too - so I stuck a little black rubber stopper in there to prevent it.

I also put one near the upper right flipper to stop Rocket kicker bounce-outs. So far it's never failed.

Back to the issue - have you checked the Gumball VUK pad is not broken and the ball's fallen into the back of the cabinet?
