I'm working on a computer control project and want to be able to have a computer reset the WPC board. I'm aware I can reset the board by controlling the 5v input, but I'd prefer to avoid that: Is there a simple way to trigger a soft reset, such a pulling a line low momentarily?

    Quoted from snakesnsparklers:

    Pin 37 on the 6809E
"A low level on this Schmitt trigger input for greater than one bus cycle will reset the MPU"

That works perfectly, thank much! What reference were you quoting? I'm not sure where to look for this kind of info.

    Quoted from snakesnsparklers:

The manual for the 6809e microprocessor. Just Google 6809e datasheet

Thanks again, that's smart. I was thinking at the board level. Working at the chip level wouldn't have occurred to me.

    Quoted from mrq:

I would suggest pulling pin 1 on U10 (MC34064) low, this will reset the WPC ASIC which then resets the CPU. This should provide a cleaner restart for the whole system as supposed to just resetting the CPU.

That works well too. What's this doing exactly?
