I found a couple links but they were deadends. Does anybody know what mods are needed to make these more reliable machines? Thanks.

I thought the Marvin repair guide covered this? Ahh, they've gone... I thought they'd been put back... anyway, I'm sure some kind person on here has some kind of access to the repair guide files stored away somewhere...??
Hello Kev, here is a link that will get you what you need: http://www.thepirates.net.au/arcade/index.php?directory=Pinball/PinRepair/Apr-11/Pinrepair/Pinrepair.com
You must highlight this link first then you will see a blue box with an arrow come up, click on that and choose google as your accellarator in order to end up at a usable link. Once on the link go to the second one that shows the WPC guides, look up at the top and you will see two arrows click on the one that says Parent and a list will come up that includes the system80 guides. I have these files in PDF form and possibly may be able to send them to you if you PM me with your home e-mail. Some boxes will not accept them do to each file size.
Good luck HH is a great game. I love the old Gottliebs, I have Star Race which is also a system80 game
Try this: http://www.flippers.com/gottlieb_ground_cures.html
This differs a bit from Clay's technique, which is to strip all the ground wires and solder them all together...keeping the old connectors in place (which is the core of the issue).
John's technique is what I used on my SYS3 (Stargate).
Best of luck!
