My stern Beatles is having a problem where the left lower flipper energizes and locks on. When exploring the problem I have found the following.

1. It remains energized (power on)

2. I am unsure if it releases automatically or it releases by hitting the flipper button repeatedly. I am unwilling to wait long enough to find out as I don’t want to burn the coil.
The EOS switch works in the switch test.

3. The flipper moves freely and unrestricted when powered off and does not appear to be rubbing the wood on the top of the pf.

4. The other three flippers are all working normally.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I seem to be missing something obvious. I’m also perplexed by the intermittent nature of the issue.

blown transitor

Could you be more specific? The spike system is a surface mount board so I'm not seeing traditional transistors like an older game.

That really sounds like an EOS switch. A local had an AC/DC with the same issue that kept blowing fuses. It was the EOS switch.

I’ll give you a call today. Maybe you can talk me through it.

It was the left flipper button double switch.

When resting, the gap that would normally stop the flow of power was not opening up. A small leaf switch adjustment solved the problem.
