Hi everybody,

This is happening with my Gottlieb "300"

Here is the scenario:
-Playing a 1 player game, ball 1 scores go to Player 1 score.
-When Ball 2 comes up, the scored board advances all the way around back to player 1 and one more step to player 2. So instead of 4 clicks back to player 1, it does 5 and lands on player 2.
-When Ball 2 ends, the scoreboard goes back to player 1 for balls 3-4-5.
-the game ends with 4 balls worth of points for Player 1 and 1 ball's worth for Player 2.

This does not happen all the time (40-50%) and never happens when playing 2-3-4 players. This just started 3 weeks ago. the game has been playing very well since July.

I tried cleaning the contacts driven by the cams on the Player Unit Cams in the Backbox.

Has anybody seen this?

Thanks
Frank

Quoted from frankdechellis:

-Playing a 1 player game, ball 1 scores go to Player 1 score.
-When Ball 2 comes up, the scored board advances all the way around back to player 1 and one more step to player 2. So instead of 4 clicks back to player 1, it does 5 and lands on player 2.

One of these 4 switches is gapped too close.

For a switch to work 3 things are necessary:
1) When open, there should be a small space between the contact points (duh)
2) When closing, the long blade's contact point should push the short blade's contact point enough to move the short blade
3) The contact points should be clean, which they usually will be if #2 is happening

Thanks for the reply HowardR . Those are the contacts that I cleaned, but I did not notice the gap on P2G was no longer there. It did what it was supposed to 20 games in a row (after recreating the gap) and my "Ball in Play" display is also working consistently again, which was supposed to be my next task.

I appreciate the input and help.
