    When I worked in an arcade in the late 70s / early 80s, my employer always referred Gottlieb games as the Mercedes of pinball. Of course he then drove a W123.

    I liked more of the Williams games - perhaps a BMW of that time? Bally then was maybe the Toyota of its time, solid working, not very expensive and easy to repair.

    What do you think?

    What?

    Based on what I've seen lately, Stern might be Maserati. High end, expensive, showy, and always in the shop.

    Williams is the Ford, Bally is the Chevy, and Gottlieb is the Chrysler. I'd say Chicago Coin was the AMC, but I actually like AMC.

    Any that buy what they now pass off as Cadillacs get what they pay for.

    Bumper car?

    That would probably be a Zizzle.

    (speaking of all pinballs here...)

    MG Midget.

    Fun, shiny, flashy. Get's all the girls attention.

    And broken constantly.

    I heard they are all going to England's Lucas automotive electronics now.

    And a similar clearcote that was so popular with GM back in the 80s.

    Is that the next Jersey Jack?

    Then they only need to figure out how the game can be set to leak oil.

    Hey now… I have a Cadillac! Bought it new in 2017. It’s served me well with only one issue related to its touchscreen that was covered under warranty. I like this thing more than any other vehicle I’ve owned

    My JCW Mini Cooper, fun could change direction quickly. Shiney, overpriced, and the worst customer service on the face of the earth. 8 trips to the dealer to get a faulty timing chain tentioner replaced. Uhhh we can not hear it...

    All pinball would be a PT Cruiser. They’re tacky and hideous to the common man, but beautiful and bring great amounts of joy to the weirdos that enjoy them.

    An interest in either can be the cause of or the aftermath of a divorce

    Volvo...you ever follow one down the road? If you see one coming get out of the way.

    Trick question!

    We all know pinball machines are the same as cars.

    OK but which one will be the DeLorean of pinball? You know the one where the CEO buys tons of coke to raise money to save the company?

    #21 60 days ago

    Disregarding the coke, maybe Capcom or Alvin G?

    Probably a Chevy Chevette, Burnt Orange.

    I have pondered this same question. My completely meaningless and highly debateable answers (and with current brand image to me):

    Stern = Chevy
    JJP = Audi
    Multimorphic = Tesla
    Spooky = Nissan
    American Pinball = Kia
    Chicago Gaming = Buick

    All of these companies have some great products. And a few lousy ones.
