Not sure if anyone can help but the SOL will often fire straight down the middle. It has been bent slightly and a screw adjusted. It will work fine for a while and then when it fires out, it feels like it gives less power so it just feebly pops out. Not sure how they work so not sure if this will make sense to anyone!

Things it could be;
Coil could be starting to fail. What are the ohms reading at the coil lugs? After playing for a bit and you notice it getting weaker, lift the playfield and touch the coil. Is it noticeably hotter than others?
Driving Transistor could be failing. Do you know how to test these with a Multimeter?
Plunger, coil stop and coil sleeve could be dirty and/or worn. If it the end of the plunger or coil stop is mushroomed, replace them. Replace the sleeve while you are at it.

Thanks Sealclubber. The guy I bought it off can test it, but it was refurbished so it is a new playfield and new SOL. But I am interested in the Driving Transistor......the boards are not new so are you saying it could be a board related issue i.e. replacing a transistor might solve the issue?

I've had the exact same problem on my AFM. In my case the welds of the scoop were all nasty. In fact the whole scoop looked awful. Not sure who welded it but it was a mess.

So I bought a replacement scoop and the problem is gone. All balls now fire on the left flipper, as intended by the designer.

But, I have a new scoop! Do I look into this transistor thing ( doesn't mean a lot to me! ) or buy another new scoop? Thanks
