Tom Truck has a error on switch 56 ( Cube in position 1)
Have stripped and cleaned the gearbox .
and all the boards in the back-box have been checked and repaired .
Have purchased new opto board and it still has the same issue.
The original board ( optos was suspect ) so just as a trouble shoot i put it back in and have the same error.
now thinking a wire issue ... but i am unsure.
what should i check ??

Sounds like you're randomly doing something then seeing if the error goes away. That may eventually get you there by luck. But your best bet is to try to systematically break the problem down. Your issue is with switch 56? How do you know that?
Go into switch edge test. There, find and manually trigger switch 56 with your hand. If its an opto, break the beam. If you cannot get it to trigger them try manually jumping the switch contacts with a paper clip. Does that trigger it? Try pulling the row and column connectors off your CPU board and using a paper clip to jump the row connector pin 5 to the col connector pin 6 on the board. Does that trigger it? None of these steps are fixes. They are intended to gather more data so we can suggest the next steps from there.
