I heard rumors of Sterns working on The Walking Dead Pin? Anyone else know what's up or heard any news? I think it could potentially be an AWESOME pin if done right. Your thoughts?

#2 10 years ago

Meh... after years of being overrun by thousands of zombie games and movies, i have had it with those non-living.

#3 10 years ago

Oh thank goodness someone finally started a wd pin thread...

Yes it's coming soon , beginning of the year.

^This^ I'm freaking tired of zombies, and vampires, hell even werewolves. Only thing original lately was the werewolves in Trick R Treat, now that was cool, and made Sookie look good for a change

#6 10 years ago

Mad Men pinball would be better.

#7 10 years ago

Zombie Star Trek would have better choice since the new re-boot has sucked the life out of the original franchise with the new & improved altered history.

if they made a Joan LE my credit card would be in serious trouble!

#9 10 years ago

Just waiting for details... Especially pro vs. LE. What am I givin up for $2000

A "Wet Bar LE" would be epic.

Walking dead pb would be pretty cool...

Keep going, the price gap on ST was 2800.
Will it be more on the TWD?

#13 10 years ago

How many TWD threads are there now?

#14 10 years ago

If AMC is licensing this game, and IF its getting made by Stern, you could bet on it being photoshopped images of the show, not comic book style.

#15 10 years ago

Zombies? Mmmmm
I wish next Stern was DOH

Lots of potential. And lots of potential pitfalls.Hope it turns out great though.

I hear you guys about Zombies in general but I don't think it has been done in pinball yet (to my knowledge) and feel it should have it's place in pinball.
Now Aliens! That has been over done!

Not nearly enough.

Things TWD must have to succeed:

1. Blood spatter: lighting that simulates blood spatter when you hit a zombie.

2. Pop up zombies to scare you

3. Chainsaw mode

4.video modes

5. Mini playfield where time survived equals points

6. Shotgun plunger

7. Drive over zombies mode

8. Zombies on a leash multiball

#22 9 years ago

I'd take the AMC. You can keep the zombies.

Everything sounds good except for the video mode...bleeeechh! I have an xbox for video modes.

#24 9 years ago

Lori multiball ...... Get it? heh heh heh

Get in the house Carl! Hurry up mode

Agreed .... No video mode please

All those rumors could be linked to Zen pinball. They already have the rights and it is shown as a upcoming table in their app. With what Zen has done with all the Star Wars tables I'm sure TWD will be great too. For Stern I think it is all speculation at this point until you hear it officially.

Two things to consider about The Walking Dead right now ...

A) it's THE hottest show on TV, currently ... it pulls better ratings that anything other than NFL playoff games.

B) this upcoming season is the fifth season - shows the show has staying power

If Gary pulls another bait and switch and makes the next title business as usual instead of TWD, he's shooting himself in the nards. As he's already shot himself in both feet before.

Here's one fer ya Gary:

Some of these aren't bad ideas. But a video mode would be horrible and massively detract from the fun of the game. Plus we don't need stern, who has enough trouble finishing software, spending weeks coding a video mode.

The pop up zombies are a must. But the rest are neat ideas. The game could definitely succeed without most those ideas though.

It might be neat to have several pop up zombies. They could pop up further away and if you don't pick them off they could pop up closer. I'm sure this won't happen as too expensive.
