I never quite understood why Stern left the speaker panel boring black. I decided to make my own decals for Batman, Spiderman and Tron. I'm installing tomorrow. Very excited!
If any of you guys have some artwork you want to convert to a Stern speaker decal let me know. I might be able to print and cut them for you for a price.

Spidey is finished. I'm happy with the look. Application was easy ( but I have some experience doing it. I can imagine someone making a mess trying to rush it). I applied the vinyl dry but you can spray some soapy water if you want to have a way out if you stuff up. I did not do anything to the speaker panel itself although Stern did a pretty ordinary job painting it. Luckily the the vinyl and print pattern covers any imperfections.

As I said if you guys have any file/artwork you like to make into a speaker panel decal let me know. There would be some great possibilities with The Simpsons, LOTR or any other Stern.

I would bring in an image of the Black Pear, gold coins and the Jack Sparrow Pirate flag.

Hey I never really noticed that piece. Good idea to "beautify" that small strip. I will put my thinking cap on. Logo sounds good. What about lots of small spiders?

Now that would look cool! Considering the nature of the laminated decal material I see lots of problems that would be almost impossible to solve (at least within my time and money budget)

It is a "permanent" decal. By permanent I mean it can be removed but will get damaged when removed. I am not a fan of the electrostatic decals. Especially when applied to a relatively poor surface like the speaker panel. Only a question of time when it will start loosing it's adhesive properties. The electrostatic decal work best on glass or lacquered surfaces and even there they have a limited life span.
Not sure why I would ever want to remove my decasl anyway.
