I never quite understood why Stern left the speaker panel boring black. I decided to make my own decals for Batman, Spiderman and Tron. I'm installing tomorrow. Very excited!
If any of you guys have some artwork you want to convert to a Stern speaker decal let me know. I might be able to print and cut them for you for a price.

Looks sharp. As Shovelhed asks, please post pics of them installed. Liking the SM decal.

Spidey is finished. I'm happy with the look. Application was easy ( but I have some experience doing it. I can imagine someone making a mess trying to rush it). I applied the vinyl dry but you can spray some soapy water if you want to have a way out if you stuff up. I did not do anything to the speaker panel itself although Stern did a pretty ordinary job painting it. Luckily the the vinyl and print pattern covers any imperfections.

Looks good, if you are willing please share the design.

As I said if you guys have any file/artwork you like to make into a speaker panel decal let me know. There would be some great possibilities with The Simpsons, LOTR or any other Stern.

Looking for a POTC decal. Any ideas?

I would bring in an image of the Black Pear, gold coins and the Jack Sparrow Pirate flag.

I really like the design, but could you also make a decal for the black wooden triangle at te bottom of the backbox?
Something with the spiderman logo/font? It would need to blend in to the decal of the speaker panel.

Hey I never really noticed that piece. Good idea to "beautify" that small strip. I will put my thinking cap on. Logo sounds good. What about lots of small spiders?

I would integrate it with the design of the speaker decal you already have. Most difficult part will be the extensions of the legs of the spider so that it wil not seem odd.

I would love to see the decal extended throughout the speaker panel not stop before the speaker cut outs.

Now that would look cool! Considering the nature of the laminated decal material I see lots of problems that would be almost impossible to solve (at least within my time and money budget)

is this a removable decal or is it more permanent? I have one on my AC/DC that easily peels up and can be reapplied

#20 2 years ago

How about a Metallica pro, all designs so far do not match cab art at all. Great job on tron!

It is a "permanent" decal. By permanent I mean it can be removed but will get damaged when removed. I am not a fan of the electrostatic decals. Especially when applied to a relatively poor surface like the speaker panel. Only a question of time when it will start loosing it's adhesive properties. The electrostatic decal work best on glass or lacquered surfaces and even there they have a limited life span.
Not sure why I would ever want to remove my decasl anyway.
