OMG! What the hell was it?
And what the Fuck happened?
Sorry man, that sucks.
Picked up three from different eras in three different denominations at Golden State Pinball in May...
The IGT was delivered to camp on the first day. Came from the MGM in Vegas with the original chair! Found the book of cage slips for big payouts inside. I put a foot massager under it for while you played. Made $90+ on the weekend.
The Keeney isn't quite working yet, but soon.
The penny "trade simulator" mostly works, but needs a little fabrication.

If anyone is interested in an early 90s IGT slot, I’m looking to sell one to make space. Must pick up from my house but ground level and I can help load into your vehicle. Ad is on FB Marketplace. 20 mins south of York and I’ll be around for the White Rose Gameroom Show in a couple weeks.
I had a little bag of those fast-flashing LED blinkers I was playing around with and was thinkin'... the only lamp on my Bally 873 EM slot machine where I thought a blinker could *possibly* 'work' was the little 'Winner Paid' light down in the corner. Yeah, I like it, I'm keeping it. It further accentuates the fact that you did win a payout vs. solidly lit, and the flashing gives it a teensy weensy bit of that 'solid state' perfectly timed look as if it's a controlled lamp.

Nice. Note that the newer, stepper motor slots (without a Winner Paid lamp) electronically flash the Insert Coin lamp.

I wish the 'Insert Coin' on this one was a smaller font like 'Winner Paid' is, it would've been perfect. But it's lit with a big #63 lamp so a single LED flasher would probably look pretty weak in comparison.
I picked up one recently. Bally Continental 847. Smells like a bingo machine!
Now plays at about 99%. If anyone is familiar with this style, can you tell me which is the coin reset unit? Sometimes the coin resets to the 1 coin position, and sometimes it does not. That’s my only issue and then change out some bulbs.

The unit that can only move five steps. In your photo, on the top right. When the panel is in the normal position in a closed-up machine and viewed from the front: the lower right unit. Also the one with the round bakelite board.

Thank you. I’ll go thru and clean that stepper unit.
It’s a six coin unit, so the zero position of the stepper should be by default, coin one? So it can only step up for the additional 5 coins to 6 being inserted.

As far as I recall, yes. Its been awhile since I worked on an EM Continental.

Post a picture of the machine and error codes. That's a great start.
Newlifegames is the slot machine equivalent of this site. That being said, it's nowhere near as well organized or visited as pinside. More than once I've thought about making a slot repair site and better organizing it....
i really appreciate it guys ill need to pull it out and plug it in. I'll let you know what i find out. i remember it was working then just stopped. i almost think it's a board issue , but not 100%

Very common is dead batterie issues. Unfortunately, battery damage is also common.
Slots rent as hobbies friendly as pins. I’d go as far as saying they are a pain in the ass to set up. I’ve done ample cussing as I was learning….
Hey guys, I’ve got a friend at work who is looking for an antique slot machine. Any one have any leads or know a good place to start looking? I’m in eastern Wisconsin.

If you're on Facebook you might check out this group and post there.
Quoted from Nikrox2:Here’s my “Mills” collection.
Mills “Tycoon”. Part slot. Part pin
And one for the golf lovers! Payout is golf balls!! Picked up at local course shutting down. Part of local history.

Tycoon is such a beautiful gambling pin. I hope we, as a hobby, have enough people such that all remaining one ball gambling machines get saved and not just axes & tossed out anymore.

Thanks. To join the group, they asked if it was legal to own a slot machine in my state. How do I find that out? Anyone know offhand?
According to the U.S. Slot Machine Laws by State page at letsgambleusa.com, slot ownership is prohibited in Alabama, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
Sorry....

Sorry....
Dang.
This is probably more accurate:

It’s not illegal in Wisconsin; the machines just have to be at least 25 years old. That is somewhat limiting, but you can still get S+, 40x, etc. machines….
Unless you're running a casino in your home, you won't have issues. Most police departments in restricted states don't even know the laws regarding slots (Massachusetts for example).

Exactly I've known a ton of coin-op collectors in Wi with slots. I have never heard of anyone being hassled about it. They have video gaming machines in most bars here too which are technically illegal if someone wanted to press the issue.
Thanks guys, I kinda figured it was something that wasn’t really enforced.
A kindly fellow Pinsider got a lead on a couple of machines for me.
Pretty much all just a technicality everywhere. The local law enforcement generally doesn't maintain a means to enforce the age-old laws on the books. As long as you're not caught running a for-profit casino, nobody will hassle you.

There was a news story mentioned a while back on NLG where, a not too bright individual had his slots setup in his garage and would have "casino" nights, with his garage wide open. His neighbors would gamble with their own money and take home any winnings. Not the brightest bulb on the tree, he got busted, charged, and his machines were confiscated.
Short story: I'm a newbie to the slot club. I recently obtained a SAVP Multi Slot and love it.
Long Story: Years back, I seen a slot machine in Vegas with a (MLD) 3D monitor and fell in love with the monitor. After geeking out over it, a couple years later, I found a racing arcade game utilizing the same 3D monitor. I've built several Multi-Arcarde machines and Virtual Pins and this was an awesome (1st slot) addition for me - 3D monitor & Multi Slot. I hand built the cabinet with a black T-Molding with a chrome pinstripe that I think turned out well. The MLD monitor is real eye-candy for me.
Quoted from wayout440:My new baby, an IGT G23. The MLD display is awesome!

I love the expanding symbols animations on the MLD!
something different. have been chasing one of these for over 30 years.
so bally model 873-j which is a variant made for basically one state in australia.
the logos are from the sydney rugby league competition around 1967. our league is like the nfl without helmets and padding.
into the restore queue it goes.
sadly only 7 of the 12 teams are stand alone clubs now.

If you don't find one let me know. I've got a couple that are cracked and not holding a repair very well. So I've been considering doing a 3D model and printing them. No guarantee on how fast I'd do it but it might motivate me to get it done...

Did you try the L & W parts department? If they won't sell to you, ask a slot tech at one of your local Tribal casinos.
