wow that golf machine is cool

Quoted from presqueisle:

Brought this home from the Chicagoland Jukebox show this past weekend. From the 40's, a Pulver candy machine with the cop and robber (they had multiple colors and animations). Push in a cent and the cop hits the robber over the head with his night stick. The robber's eyes spin around and his tongue goes in and out. And get a piece of gum, too! It works on a clock like mech that needs to be wound during gum refills.
*interestingly it works only 1/2 time (or less) using newer cents, since the coin weight triggers the mech. Works 100% with the heavier wheat cents, which it was designed for.

wow thats awesome

have not seen this or at least not in awhile
whats those run?

Quoted from LaGattaDJ:

Here's my Chicago Coin Bowler after a partial restoration. The purists will not like the paint scheme as I painted it to match the Champagne back glass. It is currently in my new basement bar I just finished a few weeks ago after months of building.

1973. The last EM ball bowler produced..

That's sweet didn't know it was the last one
I had a digital one but it never worked right plus doesn't have the chimes etc

I plan on restoring it one day.

Not an em question per say

sweet bowler
I have two
If a pin keeps resetting
folding up and down again before finally staying down after all the pins reset
Is this due to a dirty contact switch?
I’m having a issue with my head pin doing that occasionally

Quoted from bob_e:

Some time ago, I saw a guy in Ohio on ebarf, selling ball bowlers he may have what you need.

He sold them all
I got my EM gold medal from him
St. Louis ball bowler came and bought everything he had left
Believe it’s all gone

Quoted from dkatgs:

Congrats on the 5 Star Bowler! They are well built and yours looks to be in a lot better shape than mine was. Just finished restoring a 16 foot United 5 Star bowler so if you have any questions let me know. Good luck and enjoy the journey!

Very nice
are those new swirl brown white balls
If so where you get them

#1996 3 years ago
Quoted from dkatgs:

Yes I did get those 4.5" swirl balls from St. Louis Ball Bowler. Love how they look! Just as I remembered from my youth. I couldn't use the ones I received in the purchase after bringing it back to life and was glad to find them.
I also found these cool light up LED button switches. They are 12v boat horn switches and you can get them in all different colors. Bowl On![quoted image]

Very cool

Quoted from dudah:

I see tons of shuffle bowlers for sale, people asking anywhere from get it out of my basement to several thousand dollars.
I question how many actually sell.
I helped my buddy move a United shuffle once and it was the heaviest thing I've ever moved. So many EM guts.

Yes extremely heavy and usually odd and oblong
From my experience they are hard to get rid of
You might luck out and find someone who loves it and willing to buy one for 400-1000

I never paid much for them and most of the time they were near free but had to move them.

The worst was halfway up the steps with the em part guy says oops I forgot I installed this door trim there. I guess 20 years go by you don’t realize it until your body’s Aching and quaking and your rubbing, lol

We got it out but it was super ugly
And let’s put it this way

If I saw one free cherry and fully working I’d probably hesitate and have to think about it lol

Does anyone else’s bowler balls get dirty?
I’m guessing this is being by the lift chain and grease or something rubbing them.
Is there a pad or plastic blocking that from happening ?

Any pics are appreciated. I want them clean!

Def the coil guy to call
He still does mail order!
And helped me replace a really odd coil found nowhere else but him. Believe he just made me one. Really an expert!
