My buddy got his bracket for the battlefield fixed and it's throwing the mtr/switch error. With the motor pulled it only turns on for a split second in motor test.

When I ground the tip 102's the motor spins all day each direction. The pre-driver's test ok.
I was going to start barking up the ls374 but got paranoid this is expected behavior since it's not seeing activity on the opto's. The opto's seem ok.

Should the motor spin freely in motor test when not hooked in? Thanks for your time!

We are in a hurry for a party tonight, so I am just going to swap another driver board in and see if it fixes it. Current plan is to probe the ls374 during test and see what it's doing.

It was expected! The software doesn't really let you test the motor in motor test if the bracket isn't installed. The tolerances on the repaired bracket were tighter so the set-screw and roll-pins were binding it all up. We took it apart, but the test mode wouldn't really run because it didn't see the activity on the optos it expected while turning the motor. It made the motor look broken.

After filing the set screw and pins down a bit so it was not getting hung up, everything worked fine.
