I'm putting new rubber on my Corvette pin. The old post sleeves seem 1/4 inch or so shorter than the new ones. It's like the new ones are too tall. Are they supposed to be taller and just smoosh down??? Its my first time using a rubber.....replacement kit.

Thanks!

Found that out myself last week. Seem to fit and work just fine on my JD though.

Bump....is this normal? Should I just install them?

If you don't like how they look, cut em. Rubber kits vary.

I know I can just cut them. I'm simply asking if they are supposed to be taller and smash down. If so, I will install them as is. If not, I will cut them.

You shouldnt have to smash them down. They either fit right or they don't. I'd verify with the manual and check for ex pics on ipdb.org. Kits are wierd. Not all are 100% correct. Where did you order it from?

supposed to be (13) black sleeves - 23-6556 - 1 1/16"

Most black rubber posts sleeves are 1-1/16" nominal. Not all metal posts are 1-1/16". Some are taller at 1-1/8" and some are only 1". I make my color post sleeves at 1" nominal which seems to allow for the most fitments possible. I know what the OP is hesitant about. I hate to see plastic warping under the pressure of crushing too tall post sleeves. Cut them or get mine, done

I'd go w/ Cliffy's post rubbers. Lots of colors to choose from. Really accents the playfield by using something other than black or yellow.

Thanks for the info. That's exactly what I was thinking. Cut them I shall. Thanks!

Get Cliffy post sleeves they are awesome! My gem plastic/bumper on my TRON LE looks insanely good now thanks to white cliffy posts. Get a scalpel blade and cut them to fit, and if post is too tall get 2 Cliffy post sleeves install one then cut another in half fit it on top perfecto!
