So I wanted to share the restoration of my Army Navy. Normally I would do the restore my self but I wanted this one to get the attention it deserves so I sent it off to Mike Hasanov @ Vintage Coin Op Restorations.
This mache was the one in the History of Pinball booth at TPF this year.
I lucked upon it after it came up in England and 2 people before me passed on it.
I had it shipped over and it was pretty rough. The cabinet was falling apart and was painted blue. The playfield was at some point painted silver directly over the gold. It's apparently only the 23rd one known combined between wood and gold playfield versions.
I find it interesting that an American football game made it to England and was on route. It even had an English penny coin slide. Odd at best.

    Anyway. Here's the eye candy.

Vintage coin op restorations has been hard at work. Cabinets almost complete

Here for me is the interesting part and also why I didn't want to take on this restoration myself. Mike at vintage coin op restorations notes that he was hoping to find a nice gold play field under the silver and while there was some a lot of it was worn down to the primer. He states that a repaint is what will be needed to bring this beauty back to life.

It's coming together nicely. I'm astonished that it's the same machine even. Mike's work is truly amazing.

Isn't it cool. I love the gas piston. Considering it looked like this when it started I'm stoked.
