Our local theater has a nice Ripley's I'll be playing this weekend. What would be a good scoring strategy? Penguin jackpots? The idol? Plain old multiball? (there are at least 3 different multiball modes in this game)

I like going for the continents. Once you go through all of them (even if you fail to spell ripleys) you get all your continent points again. Very good way to make points.
another is to light 2x playfield and then start a multiball.
I go for continents too. The 2X playfield is huge. Use it whenever possible with multiball, super jackpot, penguin jackpot and unlimited millions. I mostly avoid the scoop unless 'go backwards' is lit.
The super and the penguin jackpots are really fun to go for. If the game game is set up properly, you should be able to back hand the right orbit with a cradled ball to set up the jackpots.
