Hi, my name is Patrick and I’m new to pinside and wanted to let you know how wonderful the site is. It has been a wealth of knowledge and indispensable.
I recently purchased Waterworld and have enjoyed bringing it back to life. It was only working 70% and with the help of the site I was able to repair it to 100% and install LED lights which totally transformed the game. Had to rebuild the flippers, replace some mosfets on the driver board, some pop bump skirts, etc.
Now I have a really dumb question. I’ve noticed on every pinball YouTube video I’ve seen that people are just opening their coin door and the game is still powered up. Are people bypassing the 5 amp door switch in order to do this. I’d like to be able to open my door without powering down the pin every time. I’m sure this is an obvious answer to most so help a dumb guy out.
