I'm tearing down my TOTAN for a really good cleaning. It's in nice shape. But this looked interesting to me. Has anyone used any of these playfield protectors from bay area amusements?

The playfield looks very shiny in the pictures and the reviewer compares it to a fresh clear coat. If it looks better than say a stock diamond plated playfield and offers some protection, I'll add one. If it looks more like Mylar, I'm out. Has anyone actually used this or seen it at a show?

Man I can't imagine it would be worth the trouble of applying it; but I too have always wondered.

I put in on The Shadow when I owned one.....the nice thing about it....is that you just lay it over the playfield. It does not stick to the playfield at all. Mylar however, we know is a differenet story. The playfield felt like glass....so smooth after I put in on. If you don't like it, you can always remove it without any worries.

I put one on TS as well to cover the sanctum area after I repaired it. Love it! It really speeds up the game and feels smoother. The only drawback I've noticed is it gets ''staticky" and attracts dust and hair towards the edges. I've gotta stop tweaking stuff with dog hair on my clothes.
