My Pinbot has three issues:

1) Occasionally it locks up when powered on, just after the beep. A power cycle always brings it up the second time.

2) The diagnostic LED flashes rapidly and never stops flashing.

3) Two music tracks do not play, but all the others do as well as speech and sound effects.

After these issues arose, the power supply was re-capped, no change. Everything else works.

Quoted from wayout440:

#2 diagnostics LED flashes continuously is what it is supposed to do
Not always caps, check the power supply voltages as follows:
MPU IJ17 Pins 4,5,6 = +5.03 VDC @8.1 mV AC ripple
U26/U27 ROM Pin 1 = +4.91 VDC
Checking for power at the pins and ROM can also reveal faulty cabling. Checking for both DC levels and AC ripple can help determine a power issue. Another thing to try if power is suspect, substitute a PC power supply. If it works then, you may have an issue with the MPU.
Losing just two music tracks are going to be a little more difficult to track down, but the first step here is the most common cause of audio woes in this series: replace the ribbon cable from the MPU to the background sound board.

Just to close this one out, tried a new cable and it had no effect. Caps and voltages checked okay. The sound board was removed and some traces were cleaned up - when it was put back in the music was back. So either it was a bad trace, or re-seating the connectors made it work.
