Quoted from Apinjunkie:That's an elaborate piece. Really appreciate the pipe scene. Although most of my colored glass work is pendants and marbles. Double green Amber purple baby.
Yeah the amber purple family is best.that piece is all silver and gold fuming which is my specialty.heres a heady double bubbler I made for charity and a few of the biggest names in the glass industry threw on some attachments. I did all the tubing and shaping and attachments from Rhyno,Jro$$,Bob Snodgrass,Northern Waters and myself with some assembly help from Cap'n Crunk. I have made a few toys years ago but I also shy away from them due to liability.

Quoted from Apinjunkie:that is just over the top man!
thanks man I seldom do headies due to the stress of completing,it just takes it out of me physically and mentally. I only do one every few years and stick to smaller nice pieces like the first pipe or simple production pieces. I'm going to do a run of ink pens soon for the holidays I'll be sure to post a pic.
Quoted from Pdxmonkey:Another neat glass blower from Eugene.

Sadly no pinball related gear.
I know Hamm he's one of the best out there and I actually own a couple of his old pieces before he went mostly scientific. I've taken a class with him and hung out a few times at industry events.watching him work and seeing his understanding of the medium made me realize there are no rules if you want to try it try it because you may be surprised on the results. If you ever meet him be sure to ask him about the time I broke one of his show pieces in Amsterdam.
I use a 5/32 drill bit and a little bit of practice.the rim has to be level and the hole needs to be perfect,to small it breaks to big it wiggles.
Quoted from Apinjunkie:I wouldn't have guessed those were cold worked.
Its not cold worked.i use a tungsten rod and flare it just over then flame reducing it down to get it nice and round then use the back side of the bit to size it. I need it to go in and pull out slightly rough if it pulls out to smooth it won't fit snug.
Quoted from Apinjunkie:He may not sell to someone who collects Yodas but there's a good chance he'll sell to someone who's buying for someone who collects Yodas.
Kind of goes with one of the first things I tell my students "some idiot will buy it"
I focus on not blowing up,catching on fire is encouraged. I have a shirt that says "safety third" Tim Fucking Drier.just one of the few amazing artists I've had the pleasure to collaborate with. I'll dig up some pics if the urn we worked on with some other friends for a glassblowing friend of ours and my student.
That's a very nice galaxy marble and what a great gift your ss is a very thoughtful and generous person.
Quoted from Apinjunkie:wow , it seems like every time you post an image of a something, if I want to respond I should start with the wide-eyed guy icon. What a truly beautiful Memorial. Seeing this just proves my point once again. That if an artist is passionate about the subject matter more of themselves is channeled into the piece. When doing a piece for the love of the Piece versus the love of the payoff, you tend to push yourself more ,artistically. Like Spider-Man.
Beautiful work!
Oh yeah, and where can I get a shirt that says safety third? Absolutely love that.
I've had the honor of working with some of the best glass blowers in the world. I'm a very competent mediocre lampworker so that makes me an amazing shop bitch plus if they don't want to collaborate you just pull their work out of the kiln and add a penis on it.yes its been done lol lots of shenanigans in the pipe scene. Unfortunately the guy that had the shirts printed up is in the urn.
That mousetrap is a good idea. I've been making pens and yesterday I made my nicest ever now to find a high end pen collector. The Mickey milli I've had in my collection for over 20 years and I've had some milli collectors say that image is worth about $75 a chip.

[quoted image]
Pictures can never do a galaxy marble justice bit if you've seen them in person you can tell thats a good one.
I hate doing things out of my comfort zone and often put off customs for years and I only do customs for the closest of friends these days.looks like you conquered your challenge well.
Pm me your number and a good time frame to call I've actually done a good amount of beginner classes and always had great feedback.
Quoted from Apinjunkie:Those are really cool, I need to get on the ball with these. I've had countless people ask about Ash incorporation into a memorial piece over the last few years.nice work.
You have to sift the ashes and use the finest ash and then just a little to not throw off the c.o.e.
