To start this thread off, PLEASE do not flood (heh, punny) my inbox with parts requests. You will not get priority if you do and if I choose to part them out at all. Now that thats out of the way....

So yesterday I picked up a pair of Hurricane Sandy SALT WATER flood games. A hook and a hurricane (along with a very dry and nice Millionaire which will be discussed in another thread.) The games were under salt water for roughly 12 hours the only part that was not submerged was the top half of the back box on both games. The seller decided it was a good idea to plug in and test the games (for the first time since the storm) as I was on my way. To my complete amazement: they worked. Now, lets get into the dirty details of each game.

Hook:
Bad:
The bottom is warped.
Almost every screw is rusty under the playfield
Almost every bracket under the playfield is rusted
Most coils are locked up due to rust, or maybe sand (Im not sure)
The back panel of the head is SLIGHTLY warped (very tough to see)
Display isn't working (no I have not checked the fuses or voltages.)
The side rails and lock down have some rust

Good:
The play field is solid and has NO wear.
The ramps are nice
The cab is solid and good looking(other than the parts above)
Boards are Immaculate

Hurricane
Bad:
Most coils are locked up due to rust, or maybe sand (Im not sure)
The play field is dirty

Good:
The play field is solid and has NO wear.
The ramps are nice
The cab is solid and good looking
Display works
Game Plays (minus locked up coils)
Boards are immaculate

So the question is, do I part them out, or not part them out. I will attempt to get good pictures tomorrow. Its been a very long 2 days.

salt water and rust. Oh boy. I would part these or sell as is to someone willing to put in months of work.

HOOK:
Part out or sell as is for a long term project.

HURRICANE:
Keep and restore, if for no other reason - the irony.

Part... And help out others. Not worth your time to restore.~SpOoKy

Part em out>>>>> they are not worth the effort. A few of those came to the Ohio show Could not believe any one thought the could make them great! Salt water is a "Bitch"

Why did you buy them in the first place, what was the plan ?

I have a second hook, and parts are hard to come by for the playfield and my good hook has a painted head. I showed up to just check out the hook, but when I saw both working with a low price tag, I couldn't let them stay there.
