We're not going to see the new Star Wars pinball until 2019 when part 9 comes out.

IMO, Ritchie will be put on it with a very loose budget. I think Gary knows that this title could sell in excess of 10,000 units.

I can't see Jack getting it. I'm sure Disney has seen what has taken place with The Hobbit. The game may end up being great, but the constant delays is not something Disney will take lightly.

    Quoted from beelzeboob:

I think it's more about the potential for who will buy the game. Let's be frank here: pinball guys are, for the most part, nerds and geeks. (I proudly count myself among the masses!) Star Wars guys are, as well. Ergo, one would think that--as in a Venn diagram--some portion of both populations would intersect and account for some rather large sales numbers.
There's also the marketing of the title outside the pinball community, which I think JJP did with some success with WOZ. It's a license that appeals to a lot of people, so they're able to try to reel in some people who otherwise wouldn't consider a pinball machine as a purchase.

I'd venture to say that out of all the collectibles markets (I'm talking strictly geek and nerd collectibles), that Star Wars dominates that market.

Disney now owns Star Wars. Star Wars 7-9 ('15, '17, & '19). Star Wars spinoffs ('16 & '18). New shows targeted at kids. Huge Star Wars expansion will be commencing soon at Disney Studios at Disney World. Don't forget the Disney licensing machine. Star Wars will be everywhere come December and will be in our faces for the next 4-5 years.

The only reason I don't own a Star Wars pinball machine is because I don't like any of them.

New Trilogy + Steve Ritchie + Spike System = please take my money.

If Stern released a standard and wide body Star Wars…I'd just have to purchase both.

Reading Ritchie's Facebook page, it looks like he hinted to a game of thrones machine.

For myself, outside of a Tron VE or Luci VE, my next NIB purchase will be Star Wars.

Would AC/DC have been as huge a hit if it were based on The Monkees?

    Quoted from unigroove:

So please elaborate why you think a Star Wars game will sell better (which is the only interest for a manufacturer) than any other random chosen movie license. Do you really think Star Wars fans care about a new pinball game? They didn't in the past. Star Trek fans didn't jump on Stern's Star Trek, so why would it be different this time?

There hasn't been a Star Wars pinball designed for the home collector yet.
