It was in the "In 18 months only one manufacture will be left" troll thread by 2RustyBalls. Was locked already...

    #102 8 years ago

maybe this is really nutty to do... but what about calling this number...

Wouldn't they tell you it's already been acquired and by who ?

    #103 8 years ago
    Quoted from ForceFlow:

That doesn't seem like confirmation of anything.

You can go read the thread if you care to. It was a lot of back and forth about JJP being around for the long term.

And I never said confirmed, I said insinuated, which is exactly what that quote was.

If it's not public info yet you won't get any info.

This is what currently sticks out to me on Steve Ritchie's facebook page....

So sorry to hear that! Maybe it will be ready when I'm 80!

Yeah, but if Stern gets it, the code will be ready when you're 90.

Stern get code out faster than JJP makes pins.

    #109 8 years ago

If you look at LOTR and WOZ we see that both companies can make a beautiful pin.
But Stern can really shine with spike and set a new level for that platform.
JJP has The hobbit and Pats game so i think the have no time this year.
But the wil also do great.

My guess is we don't see a Star Wars pin until 2016 holiday. I don't think they will want to risk sharing any information on new movies with a pinball license until the first movie is out, and then Stern will need the lead time to make the game. But I'd love the be wrong here and see it earlier.

    Ummm what?

Between now and the time the movie comes out is plenty of lead time to make the game.

I think stuff for Star Wars will be out before the movie....

FYI... 250 Total votes so far, Stern leads the way... not by much... close race.

    Uh....no.

Any pin would contain spoilers. Disney doesn't want that happening.

Assuming Stern is making one, the earliest it could show up is 2016......and it will be much later if Ritchie gets it, since he's busy on something else right now.

I can't believe this race is as close as it is. JJP has put out exactly one machine ever. Not to mention that saying it did not go smoothly would be a HUGE understatement.

    STERN

    No preorder!
You get to play it within days/weeks of it being announced!
You do however get to wait for competed code.

Stern creates 3 or 4 machines a year and JJP still has "parts problems" when the machine is 5ish months late. A date which was "contractually obligated." There is still only one manufacturer.

JJP, come on! Of course JJP....best platform for this with their screen, and software engineers. Also fingers crossed they get it and we see JJP's first video mode!

    #118 8 years ago

They should BOTH Join FORCES... see what I did there ?>

    #119 8 years ago

    You mean "game". Singular.

This is much closer race with JJP / STERN than I expected ... a photo finish. Being the 2015 Preakness is here I guess it's fitting.
