So I got 4 beat up pinball 2000's to fix and sell, and 3 of them had totally dead computer motherboards. I decided to get Nucores going.

I cannot believe how awesome the Nucore display looks. I put an LCD in my previous star wars EP1 and it looked decent. But the same LCD with a Nucore driving it looks incredible. It seems to upscale everything to a decent res. I have never seen everything look so sharp. I was noticing all sorts of details while playing RFM that I never noticed before.

I've decided that if I ever keep any pinball 2000's for myself they will always have Nucore in them now. It's definitely worth the money just for the benefit. I had no idea.

    Mark,

Have an RFM with Nucore for sale?

I heard getting aNuCore system new is pretty hard now. Is this true - something about the person who designed the Nucore system is not putting them out anymore...?

You could still buy the software and use your own pc

I dont think Chuck is building drop ins. The software is still for sale though. Visit newegg and build a low end pc for 400 bucks.

The computer would need an expansion card to interface with the playfield wouldn't it? Or is that done with a parallel port?

I love the juke box music feature that comes with Nucore. Great system all the way around.

Pinball Life has them for sale: http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=catalog&parent=231&pg=1

I have both RFM and SWE 1. To convert each to the this system , they show the Nucore system complete, is this the only thing needed, or is there a combination of their options needed?u

The pc just needs a parallel port and usb port for the i/o board.

You would also need an audio amp. They make one as an option that is totally plug and play. Changing between the two games is very easy in the nucore menu. If you're sticking with the CRT then you need a vga/cga converter or a particular video card. Otherwise if you go LCD you just need a mounting bracket for it.

I modified my existing audio amps for about $5 in parts. I also mounted the LCD monitors using some $2.00 generic Sheetrock brackets at home depot.

Could I get some pics of the brackets? Thanks!

I would take pictures of the example he is talking about but my camera is gone for 3 weeks. =-(
Played this game for 6 hours straight last night when I got home with it.

As for the rest of his projects. Markmon is a straight up guy who discloses everything prior to sale.
I have bought a Hyperpin and a PB2000 from him and very very very happy with both.

Good comm. Very honest. Good tech skills. I would definetly buy from him again and again if he has a title I am looking for. Buy with confidence.

I agree totally about the graphics they are brighter and crisper than I have ever seen on another RFM.

I wonder why this machine does not sell for more honestly with this system in good shape.

Ok, here are some pics. Here are the brackets I bought:

    Here is the monitor mounted:

Here is the PC mounted. There are two screws behind the pc I inserted where the pc pushes up to them. It sits on these brackets and is somewhat snug but could move if there was room in front or back. (Back is blocked by the screws). The front I used the existing lock cam to prevent it from pushing forward. I bent it down slightly so that it hits the front of the pc rather than the very top. The result is you can unlock using the normal lock and slide the pc out if you had to:

Thanks for the compliments . I'd like to point out to everyone else here that I did not start this thread as an effort to sell anything and at this point do not have anything for sale.
