Hello everyone,

I have two NBA Fastbreak's that I am trying to link. After following the linking instructions found on IPDB.com I get an error that says "Waiting for Link" when I press either start button. I have tried resetting both games to factory defaults the going through the linking process again. Still no luck.

I have confirmed the cable I made has continuity between all three pins.

Running game rom 3.1 and sound rom 3.0 in both machines.

U22 has a Max239CNG installed in both A/V boards.

U24 has a PC16550CN installed in both A/V boards. I noticed that in another thread the IC used in this socket was a TL16C550CN. This is exactly what I ordered from Jameco and they sent me the IC I currently have installed. I have no idea if the IC that was sent to me is a suitable replacement for the TL16C550CN. Would someone be able to help me identify if the IC that was sent is a good replacement?

Tried that too. No change. I even re seated all ribbon cables, and ic's that were added to enable linking with no change. Displays are not synced either.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

The last sentence says TX and RX have to be swapped. Mine are not like that currently. I'm changing that now and will report back! Now I'm excited. Haha.
