IMO, the Magic eraser is the most caustic so I'd avoid that for sure.

All the older playfields that I have used Novus 2 on have always come out looking better because the degree of abrasion seems to really work great on the older lacquers that were applied.

But if you don't want to go that route then really you're looking for something that isn't water, but which will loosen up dirt?
