Does anyone have any ideas or experience removing a deco bumper cap off a passive bumper that feels to be glued on?

The only thing I've tried is prying with my fingers but it does not seem to budge at all. I'd like to save the cap if possible since it appears to be original.

I'm thinking of finding a tiny pry bar or itty bitty flat head screwdriver to try to get it.

Thoughts?

Warm it gently with a heat gun.

Worked like a charm. Incidently, it was also good for separating the center of the cap from the collar of the bumper cap I got from PBR. Took a bit more finesse as the center cap started becoming malleable.
