I've never done house fire smoke but I've had excellent success cleaning cigaratte smoke smell and residue out of cabinets inside and outside with... Gojo Hand Cleaner. You need to make sure it is the original forumula. It is what I primarily clean my playfields with (but test a small area first to make sure you have the right kind.
