Purchased EDCOG which had an inop pop bumper on it. Replaced the blown 2A fuse and it worked for a few hits then blew the fuse again. I'm new to SS and this pop bumper circuit board. The connections look clean. Could this be an indication of a bad board?

If you are relatively sure that the pop pumper operation is blowing the fuse, then suspect the pop bumper circuit board.

The board can be repaired and it is likely the driver transistor on the board. There are modifications that can be made to the pop bumper circuit board that improve reliability.

Also, you can try swapping the pop bumper boards to see if the problem follows the board or stays with the pop bumper. Then, you'll know what to be looking at as the problem

That did the trick! Swapped the connections to the circuit boards and both are working correctly. Must have been a fat electron. Now on to swapping out all the drop targets, new rubbers and working on my skill shots. This has proven to be a rather difficult game to play - knocking down the top row of 10 TWICE and then hitting the lit drop target for an extra ball proves to be a nail biter!

I bet one of those pop bumper driver boards had bad solder joints on the connector pins.
