I typically order most Gottlieb parts from PBR, but I really have not been having any luck with their shooter rods. I've ordered three of them at different times, and each time, they arrive looking like they were stored in a box of rocks--banged up, scuffed, deep circular grooves on the knob, and unpolished. I have sent them back each time, but what I've received back hasn't really been all that much better.

The whole point of a new shooter rod was to avoid having to bother restoring the old one, and just be able to install the new one and be done with it. However, I end up having to spend a lot of time buffing and polishing the new ones anyway to get rid of all the grooves, dents, and chips.

Is there another source for Gottlieb shooter rods?

Yikes, that's almost double the price. Any other options?

Sorry to be such a newbie, but I'm just starting to learn the ropes on fixing pinball problems and hoping someone can help.

I am trying to replace the shooter rod on a Cue Ball Wizard (1992). Will the shooter rod mentioned by Ken earlier in this thread work? (Link below.) Even with a wider search (Gottlieb 1990s machines) I'm having a hard time making 100% sure this is the right one and as this is a Christmas gift for a friend (installation included!) I won't have access to the machine again until the 25th.

    Any info would be appreciated.

Force, if I may please...From the sounds of things you have to at least spend an hour of your time to create a shooter rod that meets your expectations. If the shooter rods that KenLayton has suggested cost $15 max and they are according to your reply twice the cost of what PBR is selling than that would amount to $7.50 if my math is correct?? Now your time Force has to be worth far more than $7.50 an hour right?? Wouldn't it just be a whole lot easier to just pay the extra dollars and get the right part the first time and be done with it???

That is good to know. Steve runs a great business. Whether four years ago or four minutes, more of a way of thinking Force.
