I’m preparing to refurbish my Super Soccer flippers using a rebuild kit from PBR, just curious, as new to me, how do I remove the black “pin” as shown in the photo below, none came with the kit so need to make sure it’s not damaged, before I try and squeeze or tap-out I thought I ask those with experience.

Thanks for your consideration,

Matt

That's a roll pin and you'll probably find tips on removing it in the forum. Before tapping these out with a punch or cut off nail I try to fill the gap between the fiber link and the two steel arms with a shim of some kind (thin washers for example). Without filling the gap you risk bending one or both of the arms as you whack the pin with a punch and hammer. Use shims when pushing the roll pin back in too during reassembly. Also you only need to back out the roll pin far enough to remove the fiber link. If you completely remove the roll pin reassembly will be much more challenging.

If anyone’s interested, $12 for a 9 piece Roll Pin Punch Set on Amazon and $5 for a Watchmakers Hammer at Harbor Freight, did the trick, no problem to remove or install the roll pins, drilled a hole in a piece of pine scrap to “catch” the pin.
