This may seem crazy, but is it possible to incorporate Fliptronics into a WPC Alphanumeric pin (FH, BoP)? Is anything to be gained? Suggestions?
The code on these games are not made to control flippers. So no.
You can substitute leaf switches for an opto system with a custom relay hack solution, if you want to. But that is really pointless in my view. I wish they'd stayed with leaf switches on the Fliptronic system. Optos are baaaaad.
The best thing you can do for the flippers of game from this era is to install external return springs and get rid of the spring around the plunger. You'll get crisper action and returns of the flipper and better dead ball bounces. Also make sure you have the EOS switches adjusted correctly so they aren't cutting the high power too soon during the stroke.
